Chaos Theory

It often amazes me just how chaotic life can be. In particular, it currently amazes me how chaotic MY life can be while I am at work. I find that the more I try to make things less chaotic, the more it seems like people try to subvert that effort. I start a file, I keep my office neat, and my staff "borrows" a file and manages to lose a document. I get my contract drafted, but my boss is too busy to look it over and it ends up getting to the client late. I try to fix a problem, and 9 things get dropped on my desk that someone else screwed up. And apparently yelling solves all problems. Not. The office hurricane has hit again, but thankfully my name makes me immune ( after all, I'll prolly get retired this year.) :-D

Oh yeah...

Since I forgot to mention this earlier, I am employed. I'm working in real estate law, with a solo attorney. The job entails me talking on the phone a lot, since my clients are often in different states like Texas and Florida. I draft contracts, HUDs, set up and conduct closings. I spend large quantities of time up to my eyeballs in paperwork. Sound like a fun job? hmmmmm....the jury is still out on the loving my job thing, but at least I am employed, and I am learning a LOT, and a lot fast. So I guess I cannot complain too much. Yet. ;-)

And thus I hit the ground running...

...or rather hit the slopes skiing. I finally got to go skiing last night, after having rainstorm after rainstorm messing with my ability to go. I got to hit West Mountain. Interestingly, there was a high school meet going on at West, so the lodge was FILLED with high school kids. This is also known as a sane adult's worse nightmare. Walking around the lodge was impossible, and the volume of the yelling was deafening. Happily, they were contained to one side of the mountain, and I had the otherside practically to myself. It was awesome. I did much better then I expected, and my legs are not all that sore today. Thankfully volleyball seems to have kept me in shape for another great season of skiing. YAY!

Happy New Year!

A new year and a new chapter in K.D. Esq's life. May 2006 bring everyone joy and good fortune. And many more sappy postings (or just some wry sarcasm.) :-D
