I'm DONE!!!! Well, done with exams and whatnot. I'm in the middle of the writing competition, which is potentially the most boring thing I have done in my life. And this is coming from someone who spend 3 months counting fish coming out of the water on a line for 3 hours at a time. "One pollock, two pollock, three pollock....ooooo... a cod!" Yes, this is worse. I have spent 4 hours looking up citations in a citation book (the ALWD, for those of you in the legal know) and editing citations. No, not writing something, just editing a list of citations. BORING!!! I have infinitly more respect for editors, since I know this is what they do with their time, and I would go insane long before a book ever got to print.

Speaking of books, I got to read real books again. I finished Shadow Puppets, by Orson Scott Card. Good book, although not as good as both Ender's Game and Ender's Shadow. I miss reading books, although I am proving my dorkiness by my 2 new books -- Roman Law and The Homeric Hymns. But I miss my ancient texts, and it is nice to get back to them. And bide my time till Harry Potter comes out...

I've survived 2 exams so far, and that means I'm half way done. Law school is a funny thing. We get out of the test, and normally a bunch of us head to the Dugout, a locl bar across the street from the law school, oft frequented by the law kids. I get there, and we do what we always do -- we complain about law. Today, as it was an exam day, we talk about the exam. BU is trying out a new exam experience - taking an exam on the laptops. About 20 kids in my section decide to do this, and, being one of htem, I must say it is the best thing that has ever happened to an exam. For the first time in law school, I finished my exam without feeling rushed, without my hands cramping up, and knowing everything I said was readable. It was a VERY nice feeling.

Now if someone can explain to me how it is that sitting, reading, studying and occasionally writing can possibly wear me out more then working a 16 hour shift on a fishing boat, I'll be thrilled. Cuz right now it is puzzling the heck outta me...

Well, because Trish's site intrigued me, I went to Dante's Inferno test. I'm not quite sure what to say about this. I guess I could be worse....

Level 5 (Wrathful and Gloomy)High
Level 6 - The City of Dis (Heretics)Very Low
Level 7 (Violent)Moderate
Level 8- the Malebolge (Fraudulent, Malicious, Panderers)Very High

Take the Dante's Inferno Hell Test

Thanks for a study break Trish!

Well, I survived one exam, and only three more to go. I am finding myself increasingly surrounded by either the paranoid or the apathetic. Half of my classmates I swear are stressing out to the point that I think their heads are going to explode. The other half are so apathetic about studying that they just talk about the stressed out people, and how they don't know anything. **sigh** This is why I just hide in my room during exams. Law students are scary, especially 1Ls. Not that I am not neurotic liket he rest, I just don't seem to fit in either catagory. Maybe it is because I went to a tough college, or that I was a genetics major, and law school is no more scary then staring down back to back genetics and organic chemistry finals. Or maybe it is because I really don't care if I get an A, because, honestly, it is a letter on a piece of paper, and it is awful silly to freak out over a letter. I probably should freak out, but my brain can only take so much.

BTW, if you want to play a fun little game, my prof. made us predict what Rehnquist, Scalia, O'Connor and a Justice of our choosing would do in a situation where the president tries to enforce an action with the justification of implicit powers. It is amazing what you can learn about Justices when you are required to do so. So, as a little game, I suggest everyone play the Supreme Court Justice Game (Click me!) and see which Justice most agrees with your views. Since I started law school with no knowledge of the politics of this country, I have found this little exercise to be rather interesting, and I surprisingly learned a lot. Hopefully you'll think it's interesting. Or you just think I'm nuts. I can deal with that.
