It rained on the earth forty days and forty nights...

Gotta love it. First I promise to write about my vacation. And I fail to do so. Lame I am. (I suppose I can blame the pictures being developed as an excuse, but they were done weeks ago, so really, I am just a bum.) And then I FINALLY come back, and I am quoting Genesis. Genesis?!?!? Yeah, so sue me. Here in the Northeast (for those of you not here or still stuck with newscasters that are covering Hurricanes 24/7) we are having our own little water problem.

Now granted, we have NOTHING on the mess that Katrina, and, to a lesser extent, Rita have made of the gulf coast. But seriously. It has been raining for 7 + days, and it is not supposed to stop till next tuesday. Now granted, New England and the rest of the Northeast are known for greyness in the autumn, and even a bit of rain. And I can remember some fall semesters that were rainy for a week. But we are talking drizzles and grey, not persistant rain for 10-14 days.

Gleefully, my home is way above any flood area. It would have to rain 40 days literally before my abode would flood. But being stuck inside all week is driving me MAD. Not only can I not play softball (one of my forms of sanity/stress relief) as my fields are seriously under about 4-6 inches of water, but driving in a PAIN, with all the water on the high ways and the gianormous trucks kicking up a massive spray.

Hopefully this will end soon. And then I will get to play mud ball, since I have 3 games next week, and we will likely play if we can figure out how to get the bases to float in their correct locations. :-)
