So I am in my study period in law school right now. This means I have 10 days to study/review/re-learn/learn 2 half year classes and 2 year long classes worth of material. I do not like this. Granted, my school is awful nice and giving us 10 days. Some schools, like Albany Law, give 3 or 4. Yikes! Others, like Harvard, give you 3 weeks. Ok, so here's the thing. I think I'd rather have the 3 or 4 days. Why? I am going NUTS studying. Now, you'd thinkt that with 10 days I could study at my leisure, but no, I have to study all day, every day. It is not because I need to do this, nor because this is the most effective way to study. Far from it. The reason is because EVERYONE ELSE IS DOING THIS. And, being the lemming that I am, I feel compelled to do this as well, because if I don't, then everyone else will be ahead of me. Is this illogical? Hells yeah, this is practically stupid, but no one ever accused law students of logical thought.
On a lighter note, since I am going nuts in my room (no way in hell am I going to that neurotic law library, people are freaking out everywhere there....) I started using my away message as a source of venting my frustration as well as trying to keep my sanity. And, since I think I am funny, I'm going to leave you with a few of my more extensive writings/ DISCLAIMER: these are the writings of an over stressed law student, please proceed with caution....
Yo, my reliance is on the expectancy that I will take my jop and cross claim your counter claim cuz I gots complete diversity fool! So adversly possess that and I'll get some discriminatory purpose and effect. That being said, I gots the freedom to express and you can't use prior restraint so why don't seperate your powers and take your contacts, ties and relations back to the tower where you belong. -- If that made absolutely NO sense to you, congrats, you are not a law student. If it did, I'm sorry, I couldn't help it, I am going nuts studying...
I don't care what anyone says. Con Law is not sexy, contracts is not just the "buying and selling of stuff", civil procedure is not civilized, and property should not be this damned hard, it is land for god sake! -- Hmmmm....I think that have been studying a biiiiiit too long....
Felix qui potuit rerum cognescere causas.
(Happy is the one who can learn the causes/reasons of things.)
Forsan et haec olim meminisse iuvabit.
(Perhaps one day it shall be good to remember even these (tragic) things.)
Ah Virgil, how you exemplify my life in 2 simple phrases...
Yo, I gots my reliance on expectancy
Cuz I know all about complete diversity
Can't take that claim to federal court
§1332 made the judge abort
Knew I could get a claim in under prong 2
But Bone said I gots to read International Shoe
Damn! I forgot about jop
An' I haven't started Contracts, or the UCC
And lets not forget the joy or the glee
That come with future interests and laws of property
But right now I'm fighting with the Constitution
And concepts like the war powers resolution
Discrimination and Article 3
Man this is too much for me
Gotta read the amendments 10, 11 and don't forget 1
Cuz studying our freedoms is OH so much fun
And now its time to get back to my outlines
And stop all this silliness and rhymes…
And now, I leave you all to go back to my books....
