Here I sit. Beer on one side, black tea on the other. A bag of carrots glares at me from my work table. Big heaq phone on my head, playing a combiation of disney music in every language but english, and some mixed classical music (hungarian dance no. 5 is on at the moment). 4 or 5 candles are lit around the room, and only my desk lamp is on. My feet are propped up on the arm of another chair, and my laptop is on my lap. Yes, I am offically in work mode. This evening, I will churn out the final draft (I hope) of my oral arguments for this friday, as well as a 30 minute power point for my tech. commercialization class. Why all the stupid things around me? Do they make a difference?

Well, if you are reading this page, you likely know the answer is a resounding yes. I am a creature of habit, and I have NO attention span. Thus a beer to get my brain to starting forgetting the stupid stuff in my life, the black tea to counter the sleepy effects of the beer. The glaring carrots keep me from snacking on the really bad stuff that I WANT to eat, but won't because they are bad for me, and hell, I'm already ingesting enough calories in my beer. The darkness and candles to give me a dark, comfortable space to work in with little visual distractions, and the music in other languages because I can ignore stuff in languages I don't understand (and the headphones block all the other noises in the room, like my breathing...)

All and all, I realize that all this may seem ridiculous, but I am kinda looking forward to my insane night of working on my computer. I miss this kind of junk from college (I rarely get to pull late nights anymore, as I don't have nearly as much active work to do. And no, reading my stupid cases is not active...) And yes, I am clearly insane, but wooo! I get to do some massive work, and actually have proof of it the morning! And off I go into the land of insanity!
